Handcrafted Wines from Franschhoek Vineyards
Estate Winery @ La Provence Vineyard Cottages
Planted over 300 years ago, the vineyards of La Provence Estate now span more than 100 hectares in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Today, the estate produces over 700 tons of premium wine grapes annually.
The first 50 tons are handpicked by winemaker Johan van Rensburg to craft his signature Eagle Rock wines—made in the original La Provence Cellar, a heritage landmark.
Grape Varieties
The Estate Winery at La Provence Vineyard Cottages grows both white and red wine grapes, including:
White: Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon
Red: Pinotage, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz
From the 2013 harvest alone, Johan produced 30,000 bottles—primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc, alongside handcrafted classics like Pinotage, Shiraz, Merlot, and Chardonnay.
Wine Labels
The Estate Winery offers two boutique wine brands:
Named after Johan and Carin's children, each bottle reflects family heritage and Franschhoek terroir.
Paul Roux – Cabernet Sauvignon blend with notes of strawberry, blackcurrant, and oak spice
Rouxanne – Rosé of Cabernet & Chenin Blanc, floral with hints of spice
Madelé – Chenin Blanc, golden with honey and guava

Eagle Rock WinesI - Inspired by a cliff shaped like an eagle in flight—symbols of beauty and timelessness.
Eagle Rock Red – Cabernet Reserve
Eagle Rock White – Chenin Blanc
